India is a wonderful and a diverse country. India comprises 29 states and 8 Union Territories.
Recently, in 2019, Indian government has announced the abrogation of Act 370 and 35 A.
Due to this, the India political map has been changed recently in 2019.
Because of abrogation of Act 370 and 35 A, there are a geographical changes to India political map like two more union territories have been added.
- Jammu and Kashmir
Before 2019, Ladakh and Jammu & Kashmir was one state and now they both are governed by the President of India.
As per the Survey General of India, UT of Jammu & Kashmir comprises 22 districts including Muzaffarabad and Mirpur in Pakistan occupied Kashmir.
According to the newly released latest political map of India, The UT of Ladakh has two districts of Kargil and Leh with the latter surrounding the old districts of Gilgit, Gilgit Wazarat, Chilhas, Tribal Territory, and Leh and Ladakh.
As per the New India Map political states, the districts in UT of Jammu & Kashmir include Kathua, samba, Doda, Udhampur, Jammu, Rajouri, Kishtwar, Reasi, Kulgam, Poonch, Ramban, Shopian, Anantnagar, Srinagar, Budgam, Ganderbal, Kupwara, Pulwama, Bandipora, Baramulla, Muzaffarabad and Mirpur.
In the latest, as per the official map of India, The UT of Ladakh will comprise the districts of Kargil carved out of area of Leh and Ladakh as out bordered in 1947.
Now Leh which will surround the old districts of Gilgit, Tribal Territory, Chilhas, Gilgit Wazarat and area of Leh and Ladakh remaining after carving of Kargil.
Why Indian map been reduced gradually?
